NEW YORK — To commemorate the 15th anniversary of BAPE‘s New York City flagship,  the Japanese streetwear brand, founded by Nigo has unveiled an anniversary capsule, highlighting NYC. This time, the label is reviving a selection of its classic graphics, bolstered by a few new touches.

Along with another opportunity to nab the recent Shaun Crawford tees, fans will be able to purchase goods bearing some of BAPE’s retro graphics, including some that haven’t been made available for purchase in many years. These include hoodies and tees emblazoned with the classic “A Bathing Ape Generals” image, showcasing characters directly inspired by Planet of the Apes, a crucial inspiration for Nigo.

Other throwback prints include an APE HEAD wearing the Statue of Liberty’s crown, a nod to the original design created to celebrate the NYC store’s launch, accompanied by a stylized take on the same image. Various goods feature “15th Anniversary BAPE STORE New York” verbiage, but every hoodie, sweater and tee sports the shop’s actual address — 91 Greene Street, New York USA — to reinforce the commemorative motif.

The celebratory NYC capsule to hit BAPE’s American web store on April 18.
