MAYFAIR, LONDON —  The September 2018 magazine cover rollout has begun. Rihanna covers Edward Enninful‘s British VogueRihanna has become the first Black woman to front the fall fashion issue in the magazine’s history.

The September issue is the most important and biggest issue of the year for fashion publications. Candy Pratts Prince once said, “September is the January in fashion.” September’s fall fashion issues hold a lot of weight and most luxury houses spend the most amount of advertising dollars in this particular issue.

For this issue, the multi-platinum Roc Nation pop star was photographed by photographer Nick Knight and styled by the publication’s Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful.

The Bajan beauty styles in Prada, Savage X Fenty, Alexander McQueen, Noir Kei Ninomiya, Gianvito Rossi, Loewe, Jonathan Aston and more.

“I always knew it had to be Rihanna,” writes Enninful of the September cover choice in his editor letter (see it here). “A fearless music-industry icon and businesswoman, when it comes to that potent mix of fashion and celebrity, nobody does it quite like her.”
