New York Fashion Week Men’s: Tom Ford Fall/Winter 2018 Menswear; Models Walked In Underwear & Socks

NEW YORKAmerican fashion designer Tom Ford presented his Fall/Winter 2018 Menswear at the Park Avenue Armory during New York Fashion Week Men’s.

In the past, Ford shown his menswear in New York, but this marked the first time the designer has shown his men’s collection alone and presented at New York Fashion Week: Men’s.

For his show, the 56-year-old fashion icon set the bar high. The air smelled of Tobacco Vanille and the runway consisted of a pastel purple carpet.

Have you heard the saying, “sex sells“? Well, male models walking down the runway in underwear sells better. The undies were one of the key features at Ford‘s Fall/Winter 2018 presentation. The designer never sold underwear before. Ford‘s underwear collection closed the show, with models wearing nothing but statement undies (in metallic, animal print and more), paired with nude and black socks.

Inspiration: Streetier, sporty, and tailored looks, as well as an old-school nostalgic moment that was reminiscent of his early days at the houses of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.

Trends: Shearling jacket, turtleneck, shiny snakeskin pants and boots, lush hoodies, sleek bombers, puffer coats, trench coats, fitted sweatpants, tailored suits, sweaters, undies and more.

Palette: Zebra, cheetah, silk, snakeskin, fur, leather, and more.

Models: A diverse group of models.

Guests in attendance: Ciara and Russell Wilson, Sebastian Stan, Trevor Noah, Pusha T, Halsey, Cordell Broadus and Lee Daniels.
