New York Fashion Week Men’s: Todd Snyder Fall/Winter 2018 Menswear

NEW YORKAmerican fashion designer Todd Snyder founded his eponymous label in New York City in 2011. The designer moved to New York to design outerwear for Polo Ralph Lauren before becoming the Director of Menswear for the Gap Inc. Before launching his namesake label, he served as SVP of menswear at J. Crew, where he introduced formal wear and created collaborations with heritage brands including Timex, Red Wing Shoes, Thomas Mason and Alden.

In 2013, Todd Snyder launched its partnership with Champion. Pieces from Snyder and the sportswear brand were showed on the runway. An update of the Fifties-era “running man” logo the designer emblazoned on the front of herringbone sweatshirts with matching joggers.

I really feel like there’s this resurgence of Americana,” said Todd Snyder before his Fall show.

Inspiration: An old-school sensibility with a totally modern aesthetic in a lineup that had an overarching romantic feel.

Trends: Denim jeans, jackets and button-up shirts, belted tweed coat, trench coats, school-boy sweaters, wide-legged cargo pants, a bomber jacket with a fur collar, hoodies, velour joggers, pinstriped suit, sack suits, oversized satin jacket, sweatpants, cardigan, and more.

Palette: Denim, wool, stripes, velour, satin, suede, checker pattern and more.

Models: A diverse group of models.

Guests in attendance: The show featured a accompanied by a performance by Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold
