Balenciaga Unveils New Logo
Spanish luxury fashion house Balenciaga, founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga unveils a new logo.
Balenciaga‘s creative director Demna Gvasalia, he first took the helm at the house in October 2015 (see it here), has decided to redesign the house’s typeface to better reflect the brand’s direction under his leadership.
As for the brand’s new logo inspiration?
“Conceived in-house, the development process was inspired by the clarity of public transportation signage,” the brand said in a release.
Back in May, DM Fashion Book reported that Balenciaga will open Avenue Montaigne store (see it here). The house’s second store under creative director Gvasalia’s artistic direction set to open in Paris in September. It will also mark the brand’s fourth boutique in the capital and second in its so-called golden triangle, which also counts a store on the neighboring Avenue George V that Balenciaga said it plans to keep.
According to WWD, “The boutique, located at 57 Avenue Montaigne, will sport the same metal-based industrial concept unveiled at the recently revamped Rue Saint-Honoré flagship in March, based on a clothing warehouse, and is to house Balenciaga’s full men’s and women’s collections.”
The Kering-owned brand has 115 stores worldwide.
Gvasalia is also the founder of the Paris fashion label Vêtements.
