There are still some major changes at Burberry. Christopher Bailey hired Sabrina Bonesi as the house’s new Accessories Design Director. The former accessories specialist from Dior has been tapped to lead the design of bags, shoes, and accessories for men’s and women’s at Burberry. 40% of Burberry‘s revenue comes from accessories.

Bonesi is not the only new person at Burberry; a little over a month ago, the house hired one of Net-a-Porter‘s co-founders, Claudia Plant, in a newly created role.

Plant will serve as senior vice president, brand experience: a role that will see her work to “bring fashion and products to life for customers, and help to establish a strong editorial voice that will support brand and product initiatives”.

Last July, DM Fashion Book reported that Christoper Bailey is out as Burberry CEO. He will become president and chief creative officer. Burberry has appointed Marco Gobbetti chief executive officer. Gobbetti is currently chairman and CEO of French luxury brand Céline, a position he has held since 2008. He has worked in the industry for more than 20 years, having previously worked at Givenchy and Moschino.

Gobbetti start date at Burberry is July 2017.

I am very excited that Marco Gobbetti is joining us as chief executive officer and as a partner to me,” said Bailey in a statement. “Marco brings incredible experience and skills in luxury and retail with him that will be invaluable to us… On a personal level, I know that we are going to enjoy a wonderfully collaborative partnership that makes me very excited for our future at Burberry.”

Bailey will take on the newly created role of president and oversee all elements of brand and design, working in partnership with Gobbetti, who will join the company next year.
