Music artist turned fashion designer Kanye West may soon add “beauty” to his forever growing resume. The chart-topping rapper and somewhat respected fashion designer may step in the beauty industry. It is reported that West filed legal documents to trademark the “Donda” brand name across many different business categories; a quick search via Trademarkia reveals he’s possibly looking to get into jewelry, handbags, nutrition, blogs and more — but the only one of those categories that’s marked with a status of “publication/issue review complete” is cosmetics. The name “Donda” pays tribute to his late mother, who passed away in 2007.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, “Back in April of 2009, West signed a licensing deal alongside Rihanna and Jay-Z to launch a line of perfume with Parlux. He was the only one of the three to not have any scents come to fruition. We reached out to a rep from Parlux, and apparently West’s deal fell through at some point before Parlux was merged with Perfumania back in 2012.”
