American brand Ralph Lauren is returning to the official New York Fashion Week: Men’s calendar. The brand been missing since the inaugural season in July of 2015. However, the return is next month.
The designer sent out invites earlier today for the showing of his Purple Label fall on February 1. The line, which has been presented in Milan in the past, will be shown privately by appointment at the companyâs Madison Avenue headquarters.
According to WWD, “The official calendar for NYFW: Menâs shows the company holding appointments on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Thursday, Feb. 2, the last two days of the four-day event. The e-mailed invitation, however, was only for the first day, and offered slots between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.”
“Although his presentations are generally extravagant with the showroom filled with models and separate rooms for the designerâs different brands, Lauren eschews runway shows for men, saying that he prefers buyers and editors to be able to get up-close-and-personal with the line at a presentation.”
The company declined to provide any further comment on the news of Laurenâs return on Tuesday.
NYFW: Menâs will be held from Monday, Jan. 30 through Feb. 2 and will feature some of the industryâs biggest names including Joseph Abboud and Billy Reid on the first day, Hugo Boss on Tuesday, the inaugural showing of Raf Simonsâ namesake line on Wednesday and Tim Coppens and John Varvatos on Thursday.
