Tom Ford Is Returning To NYFW
Tom Ford Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear.
Last February, donbleek.com reported that American fashion designer Tom Ford has announced that he will present his Autumn/Winter 2016/17 menswear and womenswear collections in early September to align the show with store deliveries in an effort to âclose the gap between runway and retailâ (see it here). A handful of other designers and brands including Burberry, Rebecca Minkoff, Thakoon Panichgul, Misha Nonoo, Giles Deacon and Matthew Williamson are also taking this approach.
Today Monday (July 19), the CFDA released a preliminary schedule for September’s New York Fashion Week: Women’s with some new additions, one of the is them return of Tom Ford.
The designer will be coming to New York for an intimate presentation on Wednesday, September 7, extending the schedule to nine days of major shows. Thakoon (which we first reported here) is also making a return to the schedule, showing on September 8. DVF will not host a runway show. Instead, she will do a day of appointments scheduled for September 11. DKNY will be taking over the former Public School time slot at 11 a.m. the same day, while Tommy Hilfiger will show on Friday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
