After three years, Danielle Sherman has resigned as creative director of ethical fashion house Edun — which was founded in 2005 by Ali Hewson and her husband Bono, with the aim to increase the clothing trade in Africa. LVMH invested in the company in 2009.

Sherman resigned to pursue other opportunities. She joined the label in 2013 from Alexander Wang, revived it with a modern, clean aesthetic and saw the percentage of the collection produced in Africa increase to over 95%.

In a statement, Hewson said, “What Edun has achieved over the past three years represents an important step, with a new vocabulary and a real dynamic for the future. I am very grateful to Danielle for her valuable contribution, and for elevating the conversation about ethical fashion.”

In terms of a replacement for Sherman, the company is looking for a new creative organization.
