British lingerie retailer, Agent Provocateur has just hired Fabrizio Malverdi for the next phase of its brand development.

The brand is the key asset. Learn to respect its heritage and history but don’t get too stuck in the past. Always look to the future and don’t be scared to take risks,” Malverdi said to Vogue UK when he talked about his approach to taking the brand forward on what he’s learned from in his previous roles.

I believe that creativity, clear vision and a 360-degree approach is the way forward in the luxury sector. I’ll drive for precision at all levels.”

Malverdi said, the lingerie firm will now focus on “growth in new territories,” where he asserts it has “huge potential“.

The main challenges and opportunities will come from our existing retail network in relatively new markets for AP,” he added. “The difficulties lie in the current economic environment. The main concern will be finding the right balance between development, consolidation and execution. I’ll be focusing on developing the retail side of the business and creating the best customer experience, online and in our stores.”

I am delighted to welcome Fabrizio to Agent Provocateur and he joins us at a very exciting time in the company’s development,” company chairman Chris Woodhouse added. “Renowned for his focus on creative product, growth and value creation, Fabrizio is a hugely respected professional, having previously led some of the most recognised international brands in the sector. I am sure that his extensive industry experience and skills will be invaluable to Agent Provocateur and I am very much looking forward to working with him.”

Malverdi was the former managing director of Dior Homme, CEO of John Gallian, and before that president and CEO of Givenchy.
