Luxury New York footwear designer Jon Buscemi released the ad campaign for his ‘Street Elegance’ Fall 2016 Collection.
Buscemi is now based in Los Angeles, but he went back to his birthplace (New York) to find inspiration for his latest offering.
“The collection is called ‘Street Elegance,’ ” said the luxury sneaker designer said via Footwear News. “You’ll see a lot of street influences in the collection but executed at the highest level.”
The fall collection includes style such as the 100mm Palm high-top, Site Boot style, and Bow slip-on. The boots and slip-on are completed with an 18-karat, gold-plated chain-link fence detail.
“We’re always playing with taking something lo-fi from the streets and making it high-end,” Buscemi said.
Skate culture also played a big influence. “I got bit by the skateboarding bug in the 7th grade,” he said. “We’d jump on the train and skate the city all day.”
Slip-on sneakers with oversized bows were inspired by women’s couture collections. “We did a really beautiful satin material, which is reminiscent of a couture gown,” he said. “It’s a woven satin in lilac and grey, and we paired it with the lamb leather bow.”
