Another day, another creative director exited a luxury house.

This time around,¬†Salvatore Ferragamo‘s creative director Massimiliano Giornetti exited the¬†Italian luxury house. He worked for the Florence-based firm for 16 years (since 2000). Giornetti¬†joined the house to head up the design and development of the brand’s men’s wear; before being promoted to overall creative director of the house in 2011.

The group’s in-house team is expected to continue designing the brand.

We will take this opportunity to revisit our creative approach,” said¬†Group CEO¬†Michele Norsa in a statement, according to Fashionista. “Over time, the company has nurtured and sponsored many young designers and is fortunate to be able to count on an excellent in-house team.”

Giornetti started his career in women’s wear with the Rome-based haute couture designer Anton Giulio Grande. He is a graduate of Florence’s Polimoda fashion school and took classes at London’s College of Fashion.
