Former Gucci CEO Patrizio di Marco Is Reportedly Joining The Board Of Dolce & Gabbana

We first reported this story two weeks ago (here). Earlier this morning more details were released.

It is being reported by Bloomberg that former Gucci CEO Patrizio di Marco is joining the board of Dolce & Gabbana and could start his new position at the Italian luxury house as early as next month, according to people familiar with the situation. The two people asked not to be identified as the matter is private.

The publication adds, “Marco’s arrival could presage an eventual public offering of the business, one of the people said. Dolce & Gabbana recently hired Gucci’s former head of merchandising and licensing Diana Zanetto, one of Di Marco’s trusted lieutenants, according to one of the people.“

di Marco and a spokeswoman for the Milan-based company declined to comment.

di Marco ran Gucci (owned by Kering SA) for six years. While there, he grew sales by nearly two-thirds. di Marco and former creative director Frida Giannini left Gucci in Jan 2015. Prior to joining Gucci in 2009, di Marco, played an instrumental role in turning Bottega Veneta as President and CEO for eight years.
