Earlier in the week, donbleek.com reported that designer Alessandro Sartori is to exit Berluti after a five-year¬†collaboration¬†for a new opportunity. He partnered with Antoine Arnault¬†(Son of LVMH chairman and chief executive officer Bernard Arnault) to expand elite cobbler Berluti into a lifestyle label for men. The Paris-based firm is controlled by luxury giant¬†LVMH Mo√ęt Hennessy Louis Vuitton¬†(see the original story here).¬†Sarotri‚Äės last show for the brand was his fall 2016 collection, presented on Jan. 22 at¬†Les Arts Decoratifs during Paris Fashion Week.

We also reported that¬†Stefano Pilati is said to be leaving Ermenegeilo Zegna Group, which instantly brought us to this conclusion: “Could Satori be going back to Ermenegildo Zegna?”

We were 100% right! “Alessandro Sartori will be appointed to the newly-created position of artistic director of the family-run Italian luxury giant Ermenegildo Zegna, with responsibility across all Zegna brands and all creative functions,” the group revealed exclusively to BoF.

Sartori had joined Berluti after eight years at the creative helm of Z Zegna, Ermenegildo Zegna’s more fashion-oriented brand that was launched in 2003.

Sartori will officially join the Ermenegildo Zegna Group in June 2016 and will report directly to Gildo Zegna, chief executive officer of the company. Sartori‚Äôs first full season for the company will be Autumn/Winter 2017.”

‚ÄúI’ve known Alessandro and his style for many years and I am extremely excited to welcome him back to our group. His talent, creativity, passion and modernity make him the perfect fit to help us take Zegna to the next phase of its development,‚ÄĚ said Gildo Zegna in a statement.

I want to thank Gildo and the whole Zegna family for this fantastic opportunity. I grew up watching and admiring their creations and their authentic and deep values and I am extremely excited to write with the whole Zegna team the next chapter. I cannot wait to enter in their fabulous archives and to meet their artisans to start working on the new collections,‚ÄĚ added Alessandro Sartori.
