Raf Simons Fall 2016 Menswear 39

Iconic designer and creative director Raf Simons is back in the rumor mill.

Last fall,¬†Raf Simons departed from Dior, after¬†3 1/2 years.¬†Simons¬†was already a household name before taking a creative director role at Christian Dior. Last week, he presented his eponymous¬†Fall/Winter 2016 outing, entitled, ‚ÄėNightmares and Dreams,‚Äô at Paris Fashion Week (see it here).

The latest rumor coming from Paris is that “Raf Simons has a tentative appointment at Calvin Klein,” according to The Fashion Law. “Simons would likely replace Francisco Costa, who has been at the helm of Calvin Klein womenswear division since 2003,” a source said to TFL.

Costa joined Calvin Klein in 2001. He also worked for Gucci as a design assistant to Tom Ford.

According to¬†WWD, ‚ÄúThe industry has been buzzing for weeks that the former creative director of Christian Dior women‚Äôs collection was being recruited for a top creative role at the iconic American brand.‚ÄĚ

WWD added,¬†‚ÄúBut industry sources said not so fast. They said Simons has a stringent, non-compete with Dior, and if Calvin Klein were interested in him, it would be a long time before the company could hire him, barring an early release from his Dior agreement.‚ÄĚ
