French luxury goods holding company Kering, which is the owner of Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Gucci, Puma, Volcom, Saint Laurent, and other luxury, sport & lifestyle brands “has recruited a senior executive from Chanel for its communications department,” according to WWD.

Valérie Duport, who is currently head of global public relations at Chanel and a 27-year veteran of the company, is to exit the Rue Cambon fashion house at the end of this month.

A spokesperson at Kering confirmed via WWD that Duport would join the company, but didn’t give any additional information.

It is understood Duport will take up some of the responsibilities previously held by Louise Beveridge, who exited Kering last October as senior vice president of communications,” says WWD.
