Amandla Stenberg Is Teen Vogue’s February 2016 Cover Star
Actress and activist Amandla Stenberg is Teen Vogue‘s February 2016 cover star.
Photographer Ben Toms photographed the shoot. Styling was courtesy of Julia Starr-Jamois.
Models Luka Sabbat and Michael Lockey are also featured in some images with Stenberg.
Inside, the game changer opens up to Solange Knowles about loving her blackness and unlocking her girl power.
âI think that as a black girl you grow up internalizing all these messages that say you shouldnât accept your hair or your skin tone or your natural features, or that you shouldnât have a voice, or that you arenât smart,â she says. âI feel like the only way to fight that is to just be yourself on the most genuine level and to connect with other black girls who are awakening and realizing that theyâve been trying to conform.â
