Jermaine Cole also known by his stage name, J.Cole has come a long way from the first time I (Don Bleek) met him in 2010 at a photo shoot for XXL magazine. Before then, the Fayetteville, North Carolina-native moved to New York to attend St. John‘s University in Queens.

He attended classes by day and perfected his rap skills in the studio and Manhattan nightclubs by night. He soon caught the attention of rapper turned music mogul Jay-Z, who eventually signed the college graduated as the first artist to his Roc Nation label.

It may have took three studio albums, but last night Tuesday (August 4), Jermaine sold out NYC‘s Madison Square Garden during his ‘Forest Hills Drive‘ tour. This isn’t normal! Many of today’s rappers can’t sell out venues this large, especially MSG because their fanbase aren’t that big or simply, their fans aren’t interested in seeing them play live at a sport arena like this. The show featured Big Sean and YG as supporting acts.

Let’s not forget that J.Cole sold out MSG with an album with no features nor huge marketing campaign.

Faith in God, hard work, dedication, believing in yourself, and connecting with your fans definitely means a lot and will always pay off.

First his latest offering, 2014 Forest Hills Drive went platinum (he is also the first artist with no features in Hip-Hop since 1989 to sell a million records) and now he sold out MSG. No dream is too big!

Congrats Jermaine! Video and pics below and on the next page.
