donbleek.com is all about diversity in the fashion industry and will continue to post models of all races and ethnicities; especially models of color. Personally, I feel like it is a lack of models of color in the fashion industry. Black male models doesn’t get the same recognition that White male models gets. So, our website try our best to give Black male models a platform.

During the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men’s, five noticeable models of color walked the runways for various shows. Take a look below and on the next few pages to see Michael Lockley, Sheani Gist, Torin Verdone, Hamid Onifade, and Adonis Bosso walking the runways.

“It” model Michael Lockley is having a great year so far.

The blonde hair model walked the runway during Milan Fashion Week here and London Collections Men’s here. He also walked for Louis Vuitton last January. Aside from walking the runways around the world, the New York-native has also appeared in various editorials, magazines, and ad campaigns.

During the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men’s, Lockley walked at various shows: Perry Ellis spring 2016 menswear collection, Tommy Hilfiger Tailored spring 2016 menswear collection, John Varvatos spring 2016 menswear collection, John Elliott + Co. spring 2016 Collection, Ovadia & Sons spring 2016 Collection, Billy Ried spring 2016, Capsule spring 2016 and Garciavelez spring 2016.
