Tracy Margolies Is The Department Store's New Chief Merchant1

A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Marigay McKee was ousted from her role as president at Saks 5th Ave. Marc Metrick was her successor.

It was recently announced that the luxury American department store has tapped Tracey Margolies as chief merchant. In her new role, Margolies will be in charge of the direction and the performance of buying for all Saks stores. She will be reporting directly to Metrick.

In a statement, Metrick said, “Tracy knows the Saks Culture, has strong vendor partnerships and brings a built-in passion for the Saks brand. When the Chief Merchant position opened up at Saks I immediately thought of Tracy, and when I assumed my role as President she was my first call.”

This isn’t Margolies first time at Saks. In 2005, she was hired as the store’s DMM of women’s footwear, a role she held for seven years. She then left to join Bergdorf Goodman as SVP, GMM at the retailer, where she presided over beauty, contemporary, footwear and handbags.

Her new role at Saks will begin on May 11. Saks is owned by Hudson‘s Bay Co.
