L.A. Gear Teams with Tyga for ‘Liquid Gold L.A. Lights’ Release

80s and 90s sneaker brand L.A. Gear is making a comeback in 2015.

The Los-Angeles-based footwear brand has teamed up with rapper Tyga for the release of an exclusive edition of its iconic shoe.

The company linked with the Compton-native for the “Liquid Gold L.A. Lights,” a solid metallic gold upper with black highlights and a black outsole with lights in the heel.

Only 500 pairs of this shoe will be released and sold exclusively at the California-based Shiekh Shoes location on Hollywood Boulevard starting March 31. The multiplatinum rapper will be in attendance to meet fans on the day of the shoe’s release.

Tyga has also been named as a creative brand advisor, in an effort to bring a brand new perspective to the company’s new shoe designs that will be launched in May 2015.

In addition to the re-launch of the Lights, L.A. Gear has rereleased updated versions of other beloved classic styles such as the “KAJ” and the “Hollywood.”

We are extremely excited to be collaborating with Tyga on some L.A. Gear retro styles along with the ‘T-Raww by L.A. Gear’ collection,” said Lance Jackson, vice president of L.A. Gear. “Tyga is not only a great musical artist, he also has an amazing fashion sense.
