NBA superstar LeBron James should be arriving to NYC very soon and he has a busy next few days ahead of him. Aside from playing in the NBA All-Star Game this weekend, the Cavs player will also be producing the NBA‘s first ever fashion show.
Below is what Women’s Wear Daily reported:
“Jamesâs Springhill Production Co., in association with Turner Sports and IMG, is putting together a runway presentation featuring players, models and style setters. The show will be taped on Friday inside the Hammerstein Theater in New York and will consist of three parts: dressing for the boardroom, for a night out and for the big game.
The players, who will participate include James Harden, Klay Thompson, Chandler Parsons, DeMarcus Cousins and Zach LaVine. They will walk the runway with a model and a stylist. IMG models scheduled to participate include Erin Heatherton, Chanel Iman, Rachel Hilbert and Shanina Shaik.Â
The show is being billed as a âcompetition,â with eight players participating in the first round, four in the second and two in the âfinals.â Judges include Inside the NBAâs Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, along with designer John Elliott, WNBA star Elena Delle Donne and GQ style editor Will Welch. Shaquille OâNeal will serve as emcee.
âThe NBA and its players have always been at the forefront of style and entertainment and this show falls directly at that intersection of sports and pop culture,â said Craig Barry, senior vice president of production and executive creative director for Turner Sports. âThis will be a fun, innovative showcase, as an extension of All-Star weekend, that serves as a great opportunity to create an entertaining experience for passionate and casual fans of all ages.â
The one-hour show â NBA All-Star All-Style presented by Samsung Galaxy â will be broadcast on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on TNT.”
