Anna Wintour And Karl Lagerfeld 2

This isn’t going to be good! There seems to be a scheduling conflict between Vogue‘s Anna Wintour and Chanel‘s Karl Lagerfeld. The two are planning separate mega fashion events on the same day, on adjacent sides of the world.

The Costume Institute gala in NYC and Chanel‘s cruise show in Seoul, are both slated for May 4. This means models and fashion/fashion writer will have to decide which show they want to attend and cover.

Wintour will be hosting the opening of the 2015 exhibit “China: Through the Looking Glass,” while Lagerfeld will unveil yet another lavish collection in South Korea.

According to sources, Chanel had been eyeing May 11 for its South Korean fashion sojourn at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, or DDP, a futuristic development designed by architect Zaha Hadid. But when Dior said that it would stage its cruise show May 9 in Los Angeles, Chanel was obliged to move a week forward, given the distances involved., reported by Women’s Wear Daily.

Chanel acknowledged that scheduling its cruise show was “extremely difficult” this year. “We had committed to bringing our cruise collection to our Korean clients and May 4 was the only possible date,” the French house said, adding, “Chanel is very much dedicated to supporting the Anna Wintour Costume Institute Benefit this year as we always have. We greatly respect the incredible contributions Anna Wintour and The Metropolitan Museum of Art have made toward the preservation, education and celebration of the art of fashion, and are proud to be a supporter of this important institution.”
