Five Models Of Color Walked The Runway At The 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Jourdan Dunn
Yesterday, the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was taped at London‘s Earl‘s Court Exhibition Centre.
Some of the hottest models of color including Jourdan Dunn, Maria Borges, Joan Smalls, Grace Mahary and Imaan Hammam walked the runway at the presentation. The actual show airs December 9th on CBS at 10 p.m. ET and will feature performances by Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande.
Five models of color at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is quite good. Usually, it’s just one of two models of color. We’ve come a long way, but we still have to keep fighting for diversity in the fashion industry. I don’t think people should applause designers or casting agents for having just one or two models of color at their shows and I also don’t want them to hire models of color just because they are a model of color. I want designers and casting agents to stop overlooking models of color and give them jobs because of their talents, beauty, skills, attitudes and personalities.
