All good things must come to an end. Never get too comfortable! André Leon time at Zappos has come to an end.

The iconic fashion editor, who held the position as artistic director of Zappos Couture for the past year will end his contract tomorrow Thursday (October 30). Women Wear’s Daily reports that Talley contract will not be renewed.

At the end of 2013, the 65-year-old North Carolina-bred inked a one-year deal with Zappos. Talley has also worked closely with Andy Warhol at Interview magazine, Diana Vreeland at the Museum of Art and Anna Wintour at Vogue.

At Zappos, he was “charged with overseeing content on Zappos Couture’s site, including fashion shoots, videos and top trends. The purpose of his hire was to help the Amazon-owned site elevate its image by including the editor’s picks of high-end footwear for a more upscale clientele. Accomplishing such a feat is a tricky one, and rumor has it that the project was not driving sales,” according to WWD.

At the time of the project’s launch, Talley told WWD: “The digital universe is a new, exciting opportunity for me to reach a broad audience in terms of the global luxury market.”

I needed this much-valued freedom to explore new and exciting opportunities, and I am glad to be in talks with an exciting new venture, for my life, which I hope to be able to expand upon very soon,” Talley said without providing the full picture of his next endeavor.

Talley plugged his final item for the footwear e-tailer, perhaps to emphasize the attention he brought to his former employer. “My final post, on Zappos, on the subject of Kanye, Kim and North Kardashian has received great attention,” he said. “Television programs contacted me to come on set and speak about my view that they, as a family, are new style icons.”
