Marc Jacobs Moves NYFW ‘Time Slot’ Again; Also Changes Location
I can’t even imagine New York Fashion Week (NYFW) without a Marc Jacobs show.
The American fashion designer’s runway shows are always so highly anticipated that none of us ever know what to expect.
Coming next month (September), at NYFW, Jacobs was scheduled to show at his usual 8 p.m. slot on the last day, Sept 11 (this time slot has been a problem in the past for buyers and fashion journalists/editors because they wanted to be in London in time for shows the next day), but he is moving his show to the 6.p.m time slot on Sept 11, the final day of fashion week.
Women’s Wear Daily is reporting:
“Jacobs and company president Robert Duffy, who consulted the Council of Fashion Designers of America, were motivated to shift the time to accommodate editors and buyers who plan to attend London Fashion Week and leave for the airport from the show.”
“It’s not the only change this season. Due to a scheduling conflict with Jacobs’ usual venue, the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue, the designer is moving the show to the Seventh Regiment Armory at Park Avenue between 66th and 67th Streets.”
