Expanding His Brand Off The Court: Carmelo Anthony Launches Investment Firm With Stuart Goldfarb
Last week, professional basketball player Carmelo Anthony inked a new $122 million contract with the New York Knicks, after turning down offers from the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bull.
The NBA superstar is expanding his brand off the court. Melo has linked with Stuart Goldfarb, the former president and CEO of Bertelsmann Direct North America (now known as Direct Brands Inc.) and longtime NBC executive, to launch M7 Tech Partners, a new investment firm.
Women’s Wear Daily reports “The company has made an inaugural investment in the children’s media company Hullabalu and will continue to seek out early stage digital media and consumer Internet firms, tech start-ups and wearable technology devices.”
