Balmain Resort 2015
Globally-renowned French fashion house Balmain inspiration for its Resort 2015 collection was definitely planted in Los Angeles.
Creative Director Olivier Rousteing was influenced by the City of Angels‘s cheerful and friendly mood, pervading it with a splash of the 70’s.
The house takes ultra chic tourist travel into tribal territory. The Resort 2014 collection also features a nautical edge, which provides poise to the sexier pieces.
With its military inspired double-breasted jackets, slouchy 70’s flared pants, and bandage dresses, Balmain sure has created a collection that features every necessary element for successful resort wear. The looks mostly gear toward business casual, nightclub and elegant and designed for the younger and middle ages.
There are some cool colors, but black, yellow, pink, orange and blue are the standout shades. Patters feature strong lines and diagonals, with a tribal influence. Shoulder and chest are the body parts most emphasized in this collection.
Rousteing definitely designed some of the most neck-breaking and head-turning pieces. I was intrigued by the looks.
