Don Bleek’s Exclusive: Andrew Wiggins’ $180M Adidas Shoe Deal Offer
Two weeks ago, the 2014 NBA Draft took place at the Barclays Center in Downtown, Brooklyn.
Andrew Wiggins was selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The former Kansas Jayhawks player became the second Canadian-born player to be drafted No. 1 overall, joining Anthony Bennett last season. There are now three Canadian-born top-5 picks in the common draft era, and all are on the Cavaliers (Wiggins, Bennett, Tristan Thompson).
Last October, I exclusively reported that Wiggins had a $180M adidas shoe deal offer. See the original post here.
adidas has pegged Wiggins as their prime target for quite some time now and they are willing to give him big bucks too. The only issue back then was that Wiggins was still playing for his college basketball team. All parties had to wait until he declared for the 2014 NBA Draft to take meetings and official offers.
Well the time have now come! I’ve received an update from a reliable source and it is being reported that the Thornhill, Ontario-native has agreed to the terms with addias. Wiggins will join the likes of Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard and Dwight Howard over at adidas.
At the time of press, I cannot confirm any additional information. However, expect an announcement in the coming weeks.
