Rihanna Presented The ‘Fashion Icon Award’ At The CFDA Awards; Looks Stunning In A Custom Adam Selman Dress

Last night Monday (June 2), the¬†2014 Council of Fashion Designers of America‚Äôs¬†(CFDA)¬†Fashion Awards¬†were held at the Alice Tully Hall in¬†NYC‚Äės¬†Lincoln Center.¬†Rihanna¬†received the ‚ÄėFashion Icon Award‚Äė which was presented to her by¬†Vogue‚Äės Editor-In-Chief,¬†Anna Wintour. Previous honorees included Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Johnny Depp and Nicole Kidman.

The iconic pop star, Rihanna, looked stunning in a custom Adam Selman fishnet dress, gloves and headscarf which were hand embellished with over 216,000 Swarovski crystals. Underneath, Riri wore a G- string.  Jewelry was courtesy of  Paul Morelli.

Tom Ford was awarded the¬†CFDA‘s lifetime achievement award. The prestigious Founder’s Award was given to Bethann Hardison (a former model and modeling agent who has been very vocal about diversity in the fashion industry, especially on the runways). Raf Simons of Dior received the group’s international award. John Waters served as host for the evening.

Growing up fashion was a defense mechanism,” said Rihanna while accepting the honor. “As a child I remember saying ‘she can beat me but she can’t beat my outfit‘”.
