Remember late 90’s/early 2000’s singer Sammie? He first received fame after the release of his single “I Like It” from his debut album, From The Bottom To The Top, which was released in 1999. He returned in 2006 with his self-titled sophomore album, Sammie. The album didn’t received commercial success which caused him to leave his label (Rowdy Records). Since then, Sammie released a mixtape in 2009 called Swag & B: Vol 1 and an EP, It’s Time.

The R&B singer is back with some new music and a new name. He’s no longer going by the name of Sammie. He changed his name to Leigh Bush. Last week, he released his first single “Dancers” under his new name. He continues releasing singles digitally. “Free Falling” is the latest track from the 26-year-old singer. The song s about having faith when falling in love, inspired by a friend’s situation: “Free Falling derived by a conversation I was having with a friend of mine. Discussing how he was falling in love first during a blossoming friendship. I then proclaimed: “just jump” (free fall) and hope that she catches you. It’s rare that a man falls harder and first in relationships. I found it refreshing,” Leigh Bush told Singers Room.

His self-titled EP, Leigh Bush arrives October 15 and he will perform at NYC’s SOBs on October 16th.
