Harlem’s own A$AP Rocky is having a great year. His debut, Long.Live.A$AP debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, “F**kin Problems” went platinum as well as reached #2 on both Billboard’s Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts along with peaking at the #8 spot on the Hot 100, and he toured with Rihanna and Wiz Khalifa. Later this month, the Jeremy Scott Wings 2.0-Black Flag sneakers inspired by A$AP Rocky will be available for purchase. Rocky recently chatted with Amalgamation Mag about his single “F**kin Problems,” wildest tour moments, his upcoming free instrumental album, entitled Beauty and the Beast: Slowed Down Sessions, Chapter 1 and much more. Below are some highlights:

On his single “F**kin Problems” Ft. Drake, Kendrick Lamar & 2 Chainz:

“I predicted it would do well because of the features alone and what they brought to the collaboration,” Rocky tells Amalgamation.  “Everyone had their unique and versatile style.  I felt – as a collective on that one track – that we executed it well.  So I wasn’t too surprised when it was really, really successful.”

On one of his wildest tour moments:

“The wildest moment was when we did Albuquerque [New Mexico] and started, like, a riot,” Rocky recalls!  “Nobody really got hurt or injured because the whole amphitheater went insane—so that was one of my most favorite memories.”

On his free instrumental album, entitled Beauty and the Beast: Slowed Down Sessions, Chapter 1:

“Everything is like classical, beautiful music and boom-bap Wu-Tang s**t put together,” he said. “It’s slowed down and real vibey – no lyrics.”

On the advice that he gave his bandmate A$AP Ferg:

“I told him to just watch what I do, pay attention, stay loyal and keep God in his prayers,” said Rocky.
