Jay-Z Receives Platinum Plaque For ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’; The Album Will Move Another 475-525k
A few days after dropping, the RIAA gave Jay-Z a platinum plaque for his latest offering, Magna Carta Holy Grail. “A million sold before the album dropped,” rapped Jay-Z on “Made In America“. According to HDD, MCHG will debut at #1 on Billboard’s charts next week selling an estimated 475-525k copies in its first week in retail stores.
Jay-Z continues to set #newrules! Earlier today, Mr. Carter has descended upon Manhattan’s Pace Gallery for a six-hour performance of his single “Picasso Baby“. Some of the footage will be used for an official music visual. The moment draws inspirations from artist Marina Abramovic’s 2010 MoMA exhibition Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present. It is being reported that the visual is being directed by Mark Romanek who also directed Jay-Z’s “99 Problem“. Romanek also coordinated the event along with Salon 94. Marina Abramovic, Wale, Jerry Slatz, Judd Apatow and George Condo were in attendance.
You can purchase the album on iTunes.
