Love & Hip Hop: Somaya Reece Has A New Look & Speaks On Ending Beef With Chrissy And Olivia’s Stank Attitude
Season 2 of VH1‘s reality show Love & Hip-Hop final episode premiered earlier in the week. Somaya Reece was photo’d filming the reunion show and her new look got a lot of attention, especially on blogs. She worn a Roberto Cavalli stretch jersey dress paired with some Sergio Rossi electric blue pumps. Reece also credits an image consultant by the name of Derek Auguste for revamping her new image. In an interview with VH1 she spoke on her new look, ending beef with Chrissy, Olivia’s stank attitude, her new deal and much more. Below are some excerpts:
On Ending Beef with Chrissy:
âBasically Chrissy was like,â forget the past, letâs move on, I donât hate you, Iâm over it.â I think maybe after watching season one and after she saw that I wasnât trying to be with her boyfriend and I was just working, I mean, you could tell at my showcase, she even said âWow, you canât get mad at somebody with that much ambition.â I almost feel like itâs a test.â
On Oliviaâs Attitude:
âI even tried to reach out to Olivia and sheâs stubbornâŠIâll never try again, I did it once, she decided to be extremely arrogant and rude towards me without any reason. Sheâs the one whoâs always been rude to me since season one, you didnât really show it until season two, though. She always talks about me.â
On Her Career:
âI signed to a new talent agency, I have new management, and Iâm starting to work on new television projects. Iâm not ashamed of anything, and thatâs why I think so many fans connect with me, Iâve never been ashamed to show my struggles and pain and everything without filter.â
On Her New Look:
âA lot more money in your bank account helps. I have a celebrity consultant I work with, a stylist, but in reality, on the show at one point I had lost like twelve pounds and now Iâve lost even more, so thatâs part of it. But I also have a fabulous makeup artist, he does all the makeup for me, Emily and Kimbella. We decided I needed a new look for 2012. So we pow-wowed and decided I would go back to wearing my natural hair. My hair is naturally huge and curly, and I never wear it because itâs so much more maintenance than just straightening it. Then we decided to dye it. Then we just started to show off my new style and my weight loss and that more polished Somaya lookâ
