Another Plaque: Drake ‘Take Care’ Hits Platinum

Just a little after one month of being released, Drake’s sophomore album Take Care is now officially platinum. The disc debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 659,190 copies in the first week. Drizzy debut album Thank Me Later also debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with the first week sales exceeding over 447,000 copies and over one-million worldwide. Take Care is the third-highest sales week of 2011, after Lady Gaga’s Born This Way debut (1.1 million) and Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV start (964,000). Take Care features collaborations with Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, AndrĂ© 3000, Rick Ross, and more.
