Ambition: Wale Album Artwork
On 11.1.11, Maybach Music Group rapper Wale will be releasing his sophomore album, entitled Ambition. This is the follow-up to his 2009’s debut album Attention Deficit. The disc debuted at #21 on the Billboard 200 and sold 28,000 copies in its first week. Last month, Wale took to his official Twitter account @Wale and announced that Ambition was finished. On September 29, 2011, New York’s  DJ Funk Master Flex debuted Wale’s latest track “Tats On My Arms” Ft. Rick Ross. On the album cover, instead of doing an expensive photo shoot, Wale opts for an illustration of himself. In my opinion, “the cover is dope.”
In an interview with XXLMag.com, Wale compared Ambiton to Jay-Zâs Reasonable Doubt album.
âIâm just trying to make a classic album, something that you can put up there with Reasonable Doubt and all the stuff thatâs blasphemous to compare your work to now,â Wale explained. âWhy canât I say my album is just as good as Reasonable Doubt or Iâm trying to beat Reasonable Doubt? That shit is blasphemous to say.â
âThey just think thatâs âcause people are too lazy,â he continued. âYoung niggas wonât let themselves be great and old niggas wonât let young niggas be great. Jay-Zâs my personal friend. Jay-Zâs a nigga that I idolized when I was younger. Why the fuck you telling I canât try to beat his album?â
