Dope Collabo: Mary J. Blige Reveals Details On Her Track With Rick Ross
As we all know by now, Maybach Music Group CEO and rapper Rick Ross is in the studio working on his forthcoming LP, entitled God Forgives, I Don’t. The Miami native has been very quiet about the collaborations and tracks he has in store. So far, all Ross said about the album is that it’ll be a “classic.” Platinum-selling Hip-Hop and R&B singer Mary J. Blige revealed to XXL that her and the Teflon Don recently worked together on his disc.
“I did a crazy, crazy record with Rick,” says Mary J. “Rick is fly. He picks the best beats man. That guy is amazing with that.”
The track was recorded at a very special location in Los Angeles.
“It’s a private studio that one of our friends, he was really close to Michael Jackson, he let us use it,” Mary said. “It’s actually Marvin Gaye’s studio. It [has] murals of Michael Jackson all over the [walls], and Marvin Gaye. That was the last place [Michael] actually worked at before he passed. It’s such a good vibe.”
“Rick Ross is beautiful,” she added. “ I just love him. So much respect to Rick Ross; he’s the truth. [He’s] such a gentleman [and] open and honest. [He’s] super talented and a G. He’s amazing; a really good person, and a lot of fun.”
