Trina Speaks On The Lil Kim/Nicki Minaj Beef
In an exclusive interview with Rolling Out, Miami femcee Trina shared her views on the Lil Kim/Nicki Minaj beef. Peep what Trina had to say.
“I know Lil Kim and she’s a beautiful person. In this game, we all love and respect her,” said Trina. “You can’t come into the game without crossing her path. I feel like it is blown over the top. I don’t feel Nicki Minaj feels like she’s being disrespectful to Kim. I saw where she paid homage to Kim. If it’s something beyond that between them, I can’t say because I don’t know. But I know that Nicki said she loved Kim and that she opened the doors for us. If I heard her pay homage to her, I don’t know what else she can say. I haven’t followed [the] situations closely, but I think we need to tighten it up. You don’t see T.I. dissing Jay-Z; Jay-Z dissing JD; or Rick Ross dissing Kanye West. As women we have to unify. It’s about being a woman and getting your business right.”
“People may be mad if I say that, but Nicki is a fresh face for hip-hop. We’ve been in our 10-year run and we have done a spectacular job. Kim, Eve, Missy and I can still put out records. We don’t have to worry about what anyone else is doing because we have been there. Kim is iconic in hip-hop.”
“If I could talk to both of them, I would kiss them on the cheek and say let’s all make music and do ‘Ladies Night’ part two and go on tour. We need to put the BS to rest.”
