It’s no secret that Harlem-born rapper Juelz Santana hasn’t released an album since his 2005 LP, What’s The Game’s Been Missing!, which sold over 698,000 copies, according to some research that the editors and I did over at XXL magazine, for the November 2009 Def Jam issue. Ju Ju’s forthcoming LP Born To Lose Built To Win has been constantly pushed back since it originally released date back in 2007, because of label issues.

One of the label issues was an ongoing feud with members of the Harlem Diplomat crew, including Juelz, Cam’ron, and Jim Jones. In an interview with New York’s Hot 97’s radio DJ Miss Info, back in August of 2008, Cam’ron revealed, he “sold Juelz’s contract to parent label Def Jam for $2 million.” Juelz hit up Miss Info, confirming the split. “Yeah, I’m free!! And ready to do me,” Juelz noted in the e-mail. “But it’s still Dip Set 4 life!! It’s just going to be a new chapter! Ju Ju later went on to address his relationship with Kill Cam, “I have no hard feeling for Cam, after all, he did give me a chance!!! But I will say this: I was loyal to him and he took advantage.”

On August 13,2008, Elz did an interview with MTV and spoke about being upset for Cam saying, he was sold for $2 million. “I was upset about the part of me being ‘sold for $2 million,’ ” Santana told MTV News. “At times like this, nobody is trying to ‘sell’ me. I could have come out and said, ‘Oh, yeah, Cam got bought out.’ But I didn’t go that route. They just gotta watch me move. We gonna make it hot.” Elz also said that Cam blocked some of his collaborations, Juelz has tried to make guest appearances on some of his peers’ songs, but he said Cam wouldn’t clear the collaborations. In some cases, such as a Nike commercial and Chris Browns “Run It!,” the head of the Dipset sued the people Santana worked with for compensation.

Now it’s 2010, and Elz has been dealing directly with Def Jam for about two years and he still hasn’t put out an album. Now the question rise, is Elz on the road of getting dropped from Def Jam? Since 2007, Elz has released five single from his forthcoming LP Born To Lose, Built To Win, “The Second Coming,”Days Of Our Lives,” Mixin Up The Medicine” Ft Yelawolf,” “Home Run,” Ft Lil Wayne and “Back To The Crib” Ft Chris Brown. A video was released for “Back To Crib” and was played on MTV and BET.

In an interview that I did with Juelz back in March, back stage at the I Love NY concert, Elz said that he is open to doing a Dipset reunion album. When I ask him when is album coming out, he said, “it’s coming but I can’t give you an official date.

Honestly, I don’t know what it is or why isn’t Def Jam signing off to released Elz album. Rick Ross and Kanye West are a priority over at the label. Young Jeezy and Fabolous both release two albums via Def Jam, since 2007, but Elz still didn’t dropping. Speaking of Rick Ross and Fab, last summer Ross, Fab and Juelz all were supposed to be on the Def Jam All Stars tour bout that never happen.

According to, Elz is still signed to the label, but the site doesn’t give any information on Elz forthcoming LP. Elz, I am still riding with you and I am waiting for the album.
