Bronx femcee/former Terror Squad recording artist Remy Ma appeal was just granted. No word on the exact date that she will be release from prison but according to industry insiders, Remy is expected to be release sometime this summer.

On May 13, 2008, the Grammy-nominated rapper was sentenced to eight years in prison by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge for shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph after the two argued over $2000 missing from Remy designer handbag.

Remy Ma told Judge Rena U viller “I’m not a thug, I’m not a hardcore anything, I have feelings. I’m a wife, mother, daughter, a big sister.” The Prosecutors were asking that Remy get  a 13-year sentence, but the judge settled on eight.

Remy Ma husband/Brooklyn rapper Papoose was there when his wife got sentenced to eight years back in 2008 and he said:

“Fuck jail,” he yelled as his friends pulled him away during the melee. “Fuck jail, lock me up. I don’t care, y’all just want money. She didn’t’ do nothing.”
