Lookbook: EVISU And EVISUKURO Fall/Winter 2020 Collection
OSAKA, JAPAN — Japanese designer clothing company EVISU, that specializes in producing denim wear through traditional, labor-intensive methods has released a lookbook for its fall/winter 2020 collection. The assemblage features pieces from both the label’s mainline and KURO line.
The brand was founded in 1991 in Osaka, Japan, by Hidehiko Yamane.
Signature to EVISU, meticulously woven artisan embroidery appears throughout several pieces, accompanied by more functional goods like hi-tech outerwear. The collection takes cues from a Japanese deity named Amenohiwashinokami, whose depicted vulture incarnations often appear in shrines and festivals throughout Japan. A symbol of wisdom and courage, the motif of the deity has been worked into the collection, like a pair of jeans displaying an embroidery of silver wings, or a velvet denim jacket detailed with the Japanese kanji for “Vulture” imagined in calligraphic brushstrokes.
One standout piece is a black puffer jacket that’s been decorated with tonal “KURO” branding throughout. It comes with a semi-boxy fit and a sleek nylon shell, complemented by a bright yellow central zip closure. Other garments like ski jackets, boxy fleece zip-up, water repellent parka, embroidered jean jackets and half-zip pullovers round off the eclectic range.
The EVISU and EVISUKURO fall/winter 2020 collection is currently available on the brand’s website.
