Nike To Release An Air Max 97 & 270 In A Patriotic “USA” Colorway
BEAVERTON, OREGON — American multinational corporation Nike, Inc. has released two patriotic Air Maxes just a few weeks before Memorial Day and two months ahead of Independence Day (Fourth of July). The iconic footwear brand has revisited its Air Max 97 “USA,” first released more than two decades ago, and alongside it whipped up a bold red, white and blue edition of its Air Max 270 silhouette.
Officially coated in a “White/University Red” colorway, the Air Max 97 features a mesh upper with leather overlays that form the shoe’s signature wavy lines on the side panel. It’s fitted with a translucent Air sole unit on the midsole and finished with a branded pull tab at the heel.
The Air Max 270 borrows the same U.S.-inspired color scheme. By combining elements from both the Air Max 180 and Air Max 93, the silhouette retains nostalgic elements while also evoking a modernized aesthetic. It’s strapped with Nike’s biggest Air unit at the heel and constructed with mesh throughout for enhanced ventilation.
Nike’s Air Max 270 “USA” is priced at $120 USD, while the Air Max 97 “USA” is priced at $180 USD. Both styles are available now.
