U.S.A. Brooklyn‘s Joey Bada$$ has been named the first ever creative director of American footwear label Pony.

The new appointment builds on the footwear brand’s relationship with the New York-born artist. The 22-year-old rapper turned fashion model starred in the brand’s fall 2017 campaign and collaborated with the label on the Topstar style. Joey also appears in the label’s latest campaign, which was shot at Prospect Park, the Sweet Chick restaurant and other locations in his home borough of Brooklyn.

Joey’s first collection for Pony named “Pro Era” is a four sneaker capsule that features the classic Pony chevron and suede construction in yellow, red and green to nod to Pro Era, the music collective that Joey founded with rapper CJ Fly, Powers Pleasant and the late Capital Steez.

Joey worked with the Pony team to develop the concept, design and style of the collection, which retails for $75 at Urban Outfitters, Zumiez and the Pony website. In addition, a burgundy sneaker named the Bada$$ model will launch in February 2018.
