Business: Authentic Brands Group Acquires Hervé Léger From Marquee Brands
FRANCE — French fashion house Hervé Léger, founded by the designer Hervé Peugnet, currently known as Hervé L. Leroux has found a new parent company in Authentic Brands Group.
According to Fashion Network, Authentic Brands Group confirmed with them that it has acquired the brand from Marquee Brands. At the time of posting, no further details were given about the acquisition.
BCBG acquired the fashion house in 1998 from the Seagram’s Group and relaunched the brand in 2007 under Max Azria’s direction.
In August 2017, Marquee Brands acquired the label along with the entire BCBG Max Azria portfolio.
Hervé Léger is the latest acquisition by ABG and the second in this year. The brand development and licensing company acquired a majority stake in American heritage brand Frye and currently co-owns the label with Global Brands Group. Frye is the first brand to be co-owned by the two companies.
The Authentic Brands Group portfolio also includes Juicy Couture, Aéropostale and Tretorn.
